Hull form
Sailing Trimarans
Sailing Trimarans: YachtCodex lists 16 models, 7.7–19.2 m long. The builders with the most are Rapido Trimarans (6), Dragonfly Trimarans (5), and NEEL Trimarans (5). The largest in production is the Rapido 63 (19.2 m); the shallowest draft is the Dragonfly 25's (0.35 m).
A main hull with a float either side: most of the weight in the middle, most of the stability at the ends of the beams. A trimaran carries its accommodation in one hull rather than two, which puts the living space on one level and keeps the crew together, and it is generally the quickest of the three forms for a given length. It is also the rarest in production, which is why this is the shortest list on the site.
