Power Catamarans · Coastal Cruising: YachtCodex lists 24 models, 7.2–24.0 m long. The builders with the most are SilverCat (8), Aquila Power Catamarans (7), and Fountaine Pajot (2). The largest in production is the Fountaine Pajot FPY 80 (24.0 m); the shallowest draft is the De Antonio Yachts E23's (0.40 m).
Power Catamarans
Two hulls under power. The reasons are the sailing catamaran's reasons minus the rig: a level platform, shallow draft, and deck space that a single hull of the same length cannot offer. Two slender hulls also meet less resistance than one broad one, which is why a power catamaran will often travel further on the same fuel than a monohull of its size.
Coastal Cruising
Boats certified and sized for the coast: CE Category B or C, up to 16 metres for a sailing yacht and up to 24 metres for a motor yacht, racers excluded. Above 24 metres a boat is a crewed yacht under the Large Yacht Code rather than something a family takes out, which is where this list stops. A motor boat that publishes no CE class still counts when its type is a day type -- sport cruiser, day boat, bowrider, centre console, RIB, jet boat, pontoon -- and it is 16 metres or under, because those types are built for the coast by definition.
