What this builder is
YOT is the motor side of Catana Group, the Canet-en-Roussillon 'pure player' of catamarans behind Catana and Bali; the group page explains that a builder with a range 'essentially oriented to sail' had to offer motor boats too, and YOT is the answer — 'Experience the power of fun'. The brand launched at the 2023 Cannes Yachting Festival with the YOT 36, added the YOT 41 in 2024 (European Powercat of the Year 2025) and announced the inboard YOT 53 in 2025. The outboard boats are walkaround power cats with twin Mercury outboards, fold-out side platforms that widen the deck from 3.99 to 5.40 m on the 36 and from 4.49 to 5.82 m on the 41, two private hull cabins each with its own head and shower, and CE B certification; the brochure quotes a cruising speed of 23 to 25 knots for the range, load and engine permitting. The YOT 53 is a 16.20 m, 7.25 m-beam CE A cruising catamaran on twin Yanmar 440 or 550 hp diesels with three or four cabins, to be built at the group's new plant in Aveiro, Portugal, from late 2026. Every model was designed by JnJ Design (Japec and Jernej Jakopin), from naval architecture to interiors.
Who sails them
YOT owners are day-and-weekend boaters who want the deck space and stability of a catamaran with the look and handling of a sporty monohull — families and friends heading out for a fun day or a romantic weekend, the brand says, novices as much as experienced hands — and, with the 53, owners looking for an inboard cruising cat for longer passages.
Signature models
The YOT 36, the first of the range, on twin Mercury V8-300 or V10-400; the YOT 41, European Powercat of the Year 2025, with up to twin V12-600; and the YOT 53, the flagship inboard cat announced for late 2026.
Strengths
YOT is known for fold-out side platforms that turn the deck into a terrace, for two private hull cabins with their own heads on a 36-footer, for a beam sized to standard marina berths, for Mercury outboard power with joystick, autopilot and Skyhook, for Catana Group's catamaran know-how, and for JnJ Design's styling throughout the range.
Considerations
The website prints its dimensions in feet only (decimal feet — 53'15'' is 53.15 ft); the metric figures come from the models' public spec-sheet and brochure PDFs, and draft is converted from the page's feet. No displacement and no per-model speeds are published; the brochure's 23–25 knot cruising figure is range-wide and conditional, so it is quoted rather than stored. The YOT 41's spec sheet lists the 400 hp option while the range brochure adds a 600 hp V12 option; the larger is stored as the maximum. 'Passengers 10' is the certified count, not berths. The YOT 53 is announced, not yet launched.

History
YOT is the power catamaran marque of Catana Group, which has been designing and building catamarans for close to forty years. The group's second act began in 2003, when Olivier Poncin, sensing the demand for catamarans, bought the Catana name; a few years on he judged the bluewater catamaran market too narrow on its own and decided to take on the much larger sail multihull market by innovating rather than imitating -- which produced Bali. The Catana-Bali yards now build more than 300 boats a year. A group given over almost entirely to sail owed itself a motor boat, and YOT is it: twin-hulled power catamarans meant equally for the beginner and the experienced, for a day out, a weekend, a fast run or a party, in a pair or a crowd. Catana Group employs more than 1,300 people across four boatbuilding sites -- Canet-en-Roussillon, the company's original home, Marans near La Rochelle, El Haouaria in Tunisia and one in Portugal -- with its own industrial joinery at Rivesaltes and a service base at Port Pin Rolland in the roadstead of Toulon.
