Classic yacht-design ratios worked out from the builder's published figures, each shown against the bands designers read it by.

How heavy the boat is for its waterline length. Lower is lighter and quicker; higher is steadier and roomier.
displacement (long tons) ÷ (0.01 × waterline length in ft)³
Most builders publish a light displacement. The ratios were defined on a loaded boat, so every boat here reads a little lighter than a surveyor's figure would — all alike, which keeps them comparable.
What the builder publishes about how fast, how strong and how much the boat carries.
Fuel and water on one scale: a tank twice the height holds twice as much.

Volume production
South African builder of bluewater cruising catamarans, established in 1997 and built by Robertson & Caine in Cape Town under the Travelopia group.
The foundation of Leopard was laid for The Moorings in 1993, when the charter company held to its belief that the future of charter lay in multihulls against the opposition of the boatbuilding industry and of the traditional sailors who then made up most charter clients. John Robertson, building boats since 1977, and Robertson and Caine Custom Yacht Projects were chosen as the build partner, and in 1996 R&C secured The Moorings' first order of eight catamarans. R&C's capacity grew into multiple sailing and power catamaran production lines across Cape Town, a family business of more than 2,000 people combining modern technology with the city's hand-crafted tradition; Franck Bauguil, driving yacht sales across The Moorings, Sunsail and Leopard since 2001, built the brand's present position in the US and Caribbean markets.
