Brand Overview

Gulf Craft's sports-boat brand from the United Arab Emirates — five boats of 11.5 and 14.2 metres, in open FX and enclosed-cockpit LX versions plus the 379 day boat, built for fishing, diving, water sports and family days on the water.

What this builder is

Oryx is one of four brands of Gulf Craft, the builder founded in the United Arab Emirates in 1982 that says it has more than four decades of yacht building behind it; the group sells it alongside Majesty, Nomad and SilverCat, each from its own site. The yard describes Oryx as a new portfolio built by the same craftsmen and women who build the Majesty range, meant to compete on the world stage with a stylish day boat that is attractive in design, quality and price. The range runs from 37 to 47 feet in two versions: FX ('Flex'), an open sports coupé that owners can fit with rod holders, bait wells and storage for dive tanks and boards, and LX ('Luxe'), with a fully enclosed cockpit for all conditions. The new-generation series made its debut at the Dubai International Boat Show 2025, and the 37LX premiered at the Abu Dhabi show that November. The fleet page lists the Oryx 379, 37FX, 37LX, 47FX and 47LX. Each model page prints length, beam, draft, maximum persons, displacement 'approx.', fuel, fresh, grey and black water, generator and electrical system.

Who sails them

Oryx buyers are families and groups of friends who want one fast, stable boat for fishing, diving, wakeboarding, water-skiing or a run to the next anchorage — from divers in the Gulf and Red Sea to sport fishermen in northern Europe, as the yard puts it — and superyacht owners looking for a chase boat for a Nomad or Majesty.

Signature models

The 47LX, which the yard calls the most incredible Oryx it has ever built and its flagship, with a fully enclosed cockpit and cabins below for nights at anchor, defines the range; the 37LX cross-cabin cruiser that premiered at Abu Dhabi in 2025 brings the same idea to 37 feet.

Strengths

The yard points to a strong, efficient hull designed for speed and stability, full walk-around decks, an open (FX) and an enclosed (LX) version of each size, customisation for fishing, diving and water sports, a light but rigid FRP hull on the 37, and Gulf Craft's quality control and four decades of building.

Considerations

No engines, power, speeds, range, cabins or CE category are printed — the 'Power Options' row gives the electrical system — so the propulsion is not stated on the site (the drawings show outboards); capacity is given as maximum persons; the 379 prints grey and black water the other way round from the 37FX and 37LX on the same hull; the 37LX launch news gives 113 litres of fresh water against 227 in its table; and the 37LX page text repeats the 37FX's.

History

Oryx is built by Gulf Craft, which dates its start to 1982 in the United Arab Emirates. From the beginning, the company says, it set out to build a skilled local workforce through training, technical education and its own facilities, and it grew from family leisure boats to superyachts, showing its boats every year at the Dubai International Boat Show -- the post recalls stands in 2003 and 2017 -- and at Monaco, Cannes and Fort Lauderdale. Oryx is described as a new portfolio within that evolution, built by the same craftsmen and women who build the Majesty range and meant to compete on the world stage with a day boat that is stylish and attractive in price. The new-generation Oryx series made its debut at the Dubai show in 2025 with the cross-cabin LX and open FX versions, showing the 32FX, 37FX and 47LX, and the 37LX had its world premiere at the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show in November 2025.
