What this builder is
Allures Yachting is a French builder specializing in aluminium centerboard monohulls designed specifically for safe, comfortable blue-water and world cruising. It occupies a premium, expedition-oriented niche distinct from mass-market fiberglass production yards, distinguished by its aluminium hull/composite deck construction and centerboard design allowing access to shallow anchorages. The brand is part of the Grand Large Yachting group alongside sister brand Garcia Yachts.
Who sails them
Buyers are typically experienced offshore sailors or couples/small crews preparing for long-distance blue-water and world cruising, including high-latitude and remote destinations (Northwest Passage, Patagonia, Faroe Islands). Boats are usually owner-operated for extended voyaging or circumnavigation rather than day-sailing or charter fleets.
Signature models
The Allures 44 (2003) was the original model that established the brand's blue-water cruising concept; the 45.9, 40.9 and 51.9 form the current third-generation range, with the 51.9 notably named Cruising World's Boat of the Year; the new Horizon 47, introducing the Horizon Frame Concept, is the brand's latest flagship nominated for the 2027 European Yacht of the Year award.
Strengths
Allures is recognized for robust aluminium construction, safety-focused design for remote and high-latitude cruising, and strong resale value, with numerous long-distance voyages (Northwest Passage, Patagonia, round-the-world rallies) validating the boats' seaworthiness.
Considerations
As a niche aluminium centerboard specialist producing at relatively low volume, Allures yachts carry a higher price point than mainstream production monohulls of similar length, and the narrow model range (four current models) limits choice compared to larger builders.

History
Allures Yachting was founded in 2003 as a French builder of aluminium sailboats for long-distance voyaging, from 40 to 52 feet. Its first generation of models started the story; by 2010 the yard was producing fifteen boats a year, had gained the industrial capacity to build its own hulls, and moved into a new building in Cherbourg where carpentry, equipment, deck and rigging were brought under one roof. The range was renewed in that period -- the 45 replaced the 44, the 52 succeeded the 51 in 2016, and the 40 evolved into the 39.9 -- and in 2017 a third generation began with the 40.9, 45.9 and 51.9, completed in 2021 with the 51.9, the first Allures with an aft cabin and a long cockpit. In 2019 an Allures 44 completed the Northwest Passage while an Allures 45 sailed Patagonia, and in 2025 the Horizon 47 revisited the bluewater cruising sailboat.
