Design limits set by the EU Recreational Craft Directive (2013/53/EU), in significant wave height. A category covers the conditions of those below it. It is the limit the boat was designed to, not a promise that it is safe in any conditions within it — that judgement stays with the skipper.

Volume production
Brunswick's European outboard-boat brand, building boats since 1986 and run by Brunswick Marine in EMEA from Verviers, Belgium — twenty models from 6.0 to 9.1 metres in Open, Sundeck, Cruiser, Bowrider, Weekend and Pilothouse lines, with a production site at Vila Nova in Portugal.
Quicksilver dates itself to 1986, when Brunswick and Mercury began building Quicksilver inflatable boats in Europe. Aluminium and fibreglass boats followed in 1993 and the Commander series, which became iconic, in 1995; in 1999 Brunswick acquired the French fishing-boat builder Arvor and marketed its boats under the Quicksilver brand, and by 2005 the range had grown to ten categories and 37 models. The Activ and Captur ranges were launched in 2010, a turning point marked by a dedicated product development and engineering team of designers, engineers and a naval architect in Florida. Awards followed — the 675 Open as European Powerboat of the Year in 2011, the 705 Cruiser in 2013, the 755 Sundeck in 2016, the 605 Open in 2017 — and the 875 Sundeck flagship arrived in 2017. In 2019 the Venture Group was formed within Brunswick to share resources with Bayliner, and Quicksilver became the main supplier to Freedom Boat Club's European expansion; in 2021 the production facility at Vila Nova in Portugal was expanded. The 805 Open of 2023 set the stage for future Quicksilver design, the Exclusive Deluxe Line came to the cruisers in 2025, and in 2026 the brand celebrated forty years with more than 300 dealers and distributors in 70 countries.
