What this builder is
Absolute Yachts is an Italian motor yacht builder based in Podenzano, known for an integrated in-house shipyard covering design, engineering and production. It occupies a premium mid-to-large motor yacht niche with three ranges - Navetta (long-range cruising), Flybridge, and Coupé (sportier, open-plan design) - distinguishing itself through vertically integrated manufacturing and Italian craftsmanship.
Who sails them
Absolute's motor yachts typically attract experienced powerboat owners and families seeking comfortable coastal and long-range cruising, often with a small professional or owner-operated crew; the Navetta range in particular suits owners planning extended cruising with living comfort, while Flybridge and Coupé models suit day cruising and weekend use.
Signature models
The Navetta range, launched in 2014, marked Absolute's expansion into long-range cruising trawler-style yachts and remains a defining product line (Navetta 50 through 75). The Flybridge range (47 to 70) represents the brand's core volume line, while the 48 Coupé, introduced in 2021, established a newer, more dynamic design direction for the brand.
Strengths
Absolute is generally credited with a fully integrated, in-house production process giving tight control over quality and finish, along with distinctive Italian design and a strong reputation for build craftsmanship in the Navetta long-range segment.
Considerations
As an Italian production builder in the flybridge/motor-yacht segment, Absolute competes with larger groups (Ferretti, Azimut) and buyers should weigh the brand's relatively smaller international dealer footprint and mid-size shipyard scale against its design ambitions.

History
The roots go back to 1967, when Angelo Gobbi founded Cantieri Nautici Gobbi and became one of the Italian pioneers of fibreglass and industrialised boat production. Absolute itself was born in 2002, when Sergio Maggi and Marcello Bè brought design, engineering and production together in a new, integrated approach to yacht building; the first yachts, the Absolute 25 and 45, debuted in 2003. Angelo Gobbi joined the company in 2006 as a larger shipyard was prepared, and the new yard opened in 2008 as the global crisis reshaped the industry -- Absolute kept investing and developed the Fly range. The first Navetta of 2014 introduced a new way of cruising, Absolute of Americas established a direct presence in North America in 2017, the Coupé range of 2021 brought a more dynamic design language, and in 2024 a new expansion increased capacity while keeping every stage of production integrated at Podenzano.
