YachtCodex

Terms of Service

In effect from 2026-10-08

This document is available in English and Korean. The English text below is the one that applies; a translation into this language has not been made yet.

These terms cover the use of YachtCodex (“the service”) and describe what the catalogue is and what it is not. Using the service means accepting them.

1. What the service is

The service is a catalogue of production yachts and the companies that build them: specifications, photographs, layout drawings and company histories.

No account is needed to read any of it. The compare tray and the list of models you mark are kept in your own browser, so they need no account either. No part of the catalogue is behind one.

The service does not sell or broker yachts and is not a party to, or an intermediary in, any transaction.

2. Where the figures come from, and their limits

Specifications are, for the most part, transcribed from what each builder published on its own website or in its brochures. A few figures the builder did not publish, or labelled ambiguously, are taken from reputable published sources such as yachting magazines and boat-show specifications, checked against the builder's own numbers. Every model page carries the builder's provenance: where the exact page and reading date were recorded, the line names them; where they were not, it names the builder's own site and the date the record was checked. The first is the better answer, and the share of models that carry it is still growing.

A figure that cannot be found in a published source is left empty rather than estimated. An empty field means “not recorded”, not “not applicable”.

Where a price is shown, it is an amount a builder published for a particular market at a particular time, and it is not an offer. Read it together with the date, the currency and the tax treatment shown beside it.

Text marked “YachtCodex Analysis” is written by AI and is interpretation, not sourced fact. The page says so where it appears.

The catalogue is provided as it is. The service does not warrant that it is accurate, complete or current, and any decision that matters — a purchase, a contract — should be confirmed with the builder or an official dealer.

If you find an error, please tell us. A figure that disagrees with the builder's own page is our mistake and worth fixing.

3. Accounts

An account is created with an email address and a password, and the address is verified. Passkeys and two-factor authentication (TOTP) are optional.

Keeping account credentials safe is the account holder's responsibility. Tell us at once if you suspect misuse.

An account that breaches these terms or interferes with the service may be restricted or closed.

4. What is not allowed

Harvesting or copying the catalogue in bulk by automated means. What search engines and AI crawlers may read is set out in robots.txt and /llms.txt, and access that follows it is welcome.

Interfering with the service or placing an unreasonable load on it.

Using another person's account, or attempting to bypass access controls.

Presenting material from the service as your own without attribution.

5. Rights

Photographs, layout drawings, trade marks and model names belong to the builders. The service shows them as each builder's own published material, with the source named.

The arrangement of the catalogue, its classifications, the translations, and the descriptions and analyses written by the service belong to the service.

Quotation for personal, non-commercial purposes is permitted on condition that YachtCodex and the page address are named as the source. For anything else, please ask.

6. Links to other sites

The service links to builders' official websites. It is not responsible for their content or their policies.

7. Limits of liability

To the extent the law allows, the service is not liable for what follows from the use of the catalogue.

The service may be interrupted for maintenance, by failure, or by circumstances outside its control.

8. Changes

The current version is v2, in effect from 2026-10-08.

A new version is published on this page with its effective date. An account records the version its holder accepted.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
